Movement is intimately connected to learning.
Professor of Psychology Sian Beilock states:
A very strong predictor of academic achievement was how early kids were moving, exploring their world...When kids can explore their surroundings, all of a sudden, things change.”
The article, goes on to mention how gesturing improves learning as well as the environment we learn in. People who were exposed to busy stimuli were less able to focus than those exposed to a natural setting. I do take slight issue with the brief mention of "tummy time." But, that topic is for another post...
